Following are excerpts from her inaugural speech:

What is leadership? There are many definitions of leadership. But for me, I like most the definition of John Maxwell that says “Leadership is influence.” As Chairperson of MASS-SPECC, I hold on to this concept. As a leader, there is a need for me to influence others with my ideas, objectives, plans and programs to achieve our MASS-SPECC vision that goes “All members enjoy better quality of life.”

The overarching strategy is to cooperate, collaborate and differentiate. This means that cooperatives must work together to achieve significant market presence throughout the country and differentiate to increase visibility in the marketplace. I feel that we can start by promoting one vision and brand for all member primaries. I believe that the vision of primaries is geared towards the development, progress of its members in order to enjoy a better quality of life. On the other hand, let us not forget that we also need to develop nowadays our young people to succeed us in the future.

Thank you for your trust and confidence in me, and thank God for this significant occasion wherein we are gathered today to start good for year 2017-2018. Together we care, we share, and we serve so that all members will enjoy better quality of life. Mabuhay ang MASS-SPECC! Mabuhay ang cooperative movement!
