Two MASS SPECC trainers joined a student profiling activity facilitated by the Finance Dualized Education (FDE) project in Socorro and Dinagat islands in Surigao del Norte on July 3 and 4, 2017.
FDE is a Philippine-German technical cooperation project supporting the national K-12 basic education program through a dualized instruction by schools and their partner institutions, and modules accredited by the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) of the Philippine government.
With MASS SPECC as an FDE partner for Mindanao, trainers were capacitated in February 2017 to implement FDE through partnerships between schools and its primary cooperatives.
Ms Karen Cruz and Ms Jhenebeth Rejas of the Institute of Co-operative Studies (ICS) unit, who were trained in February, joined Mr Percival Valeriano Yaya and Ms CJ Bandong of FDE in profiling students of Bucas Grande Foundation College in Socorro and Don Ruben E. Ecleo, Sr. Senior High School in Dinagat Islands.
These schools respectively partnered with Socorro Empowered Peoples Cooperative (SOEMCO) and the NEWS Multipurpose Cooperative (NEWS MPC).
The FDE team oriented the students on the project and led the profiling. Teachers in charge of Accountancy, Business and Management (ABM) strand of the K-12 program, and co-op representatives involved in FDE implementation actively participated in the activity.
