MASS-SPECC delegates joined in the 2018 Co-operative Month opening celebration on September 30 at the Misamis Oriental Provincial Capitol Grounds, Cagayan de Oro City.
The National Co-operative Month is an annual celebration led by the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) to promote the co-operative movement and its contribution to societal development.
The celebration opened in the morning with a mass and a parade around Divisoria, where MASS-SPECC joined in along with nearly 90 co-operatives from Northern Mindanao.
MASS-SPECC shall also join other activities set by the Regional Cooperative Development Council (RCDC) for the month, such as mangrove planting on October 13 in Barangay Bonbon, and the Inter-Cooperative Basketball League from October 15 to 25 at the Xavier University Gymnasium, both in Cagayan de Oro City.
Themed “Partners for building resilient and empowered communities towards a better and stronger Philippines,” the month-long celebration underlines such role of the co-operatives, one that MASS-SPECC is also eager to take on.
