AN ENTERPRISE GROWN OUT OF LOVE
Out of love for plants, former employee-turned-farmer entrepreneur Gloria Cescon Fernando recalled those days when their family started to venture into farming. From ornamental plants to fruit-bearing trees, their family kept expanding their work and turned their passion into sustainable agro-entrepreneurship, now called “Balay sa Hardin.”
The enterprise helped them raise and send their children to colleges in Manila, all of which pursued professions related to Agriculture.
Since Gloria’s membership in 1979, MSU-IIT NMPC has been an enduring partner through its ups and downs. Whenever there is an immediate need for money, she and her family can always count on her co-op.
The family prides its thriving enterprise as it has been accredited as a Farm Tourism Site by the Department of Tourism – Region 10. It also continues to mold a new breed of passionate people engaged in agriculture.
