MASS-SPECC Joins Region 10’s Co-op Month 2024 Kick-Off in Cagayan de Oro City

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY — MASS-SPECC took center stage during the kick-off of the 2024 National Co-operative Month (Co-op Month 2024) Celebration for Region 10 on October 6, Sunday.

As Mindanao’s pioneering and largest co-operative federation, MASS-SPECC joined over 250 primary co-ops and federations in the region for the grand opening, which began with a Holy Mass at the Misamis Oriental Provincial Capitol Grounds.

Following the Mass, participants marched through the major thoroughfares of Cagayan de Oro in a vibrant parade — a beloved tradition during Co-op Month — demonstrating the collective strength, harmony, and empowering presence of the co-operative movement.

MASS-SPECC also participated in the official launch of the CEO Cup at Xavier University – Ateneo de Cagayan’s covered courts, joining other co-op institutions in friendly competition.

The Region 10 Cooperative Development Council (RCDC), in partnership with the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) Region 10 Extension Office, spearheaded this year’s Co-op Month celebrations under the theme: “Co-operatives Stronger Together Today for a Brighter Tomorrow.” MASS-SPECC’s main office is located in Cagayan de Oro City, Region 10.

In her keynote address, CDA Director Asec. Myrla B. Paradillo shared, “If we ordinary people come together, we can achieve extraordinary things. She added, “Bawal po tayong magkamali today, our future is today — ang ato himuon karon ay tama para sa bukas.” (We cannot make mistakes today; our future is today, and what we do now must be right for tomorrow.)
